Sounya is Umi's classmate and her best friend. Her mother is Italian and her father Japanese. When she was little her father died in an accident and her mother went back to Italy, leaving Sounya in Japan. Sounya was adopted by a Japanese woman named Mai Kiryuu. Sounya is a Christian and a novice nun.
