He is briefly shown in the DVD given to Makoto by Monokuma as the first motive. In the video, he is sitting on a couch with his daughter, Komaru Naegi, and his wife, Makoto and Komaru's mother. The three of them congratulate Makoto on his acceptance to Hope's Peak Academy, but after a brief time, they disappear and the room is shown empty and disheveled in their place.
