A Chinese Buddhist monk that lived during the Tang dynasty, 7th century AD, and traveled to India in search of a more complete interpretation of Buddhism, an interaction between the Chinese and Indian one.
They became famous as the inspiration for Tang Sanzang, key character of the novel Journey to the West.
