Jin Ling, courtesy name Jin Rulan, is a junior disciple of the Lanling Jin Sect. He is the only son of Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan and the nephew of both Jin Guangyao and Jiang Cheng. Jin Ling is the only living, legitimate child of the Jin clan, and will therefore inherit the position of sect leader after Jin Guangyao. He is also the owner of Fairy, a spiritual dog given to him by Jin Guangyao.
